Wheelbarrow fairies sanity may have slipped

Hello ladies...I thought I'd start by grossing everyone out! I always told my DD that if she had her belly button pierced all her insides would fall out (really have a problem with some piercings!) So imagine my fairy shock when i looked down and saw this :-O  And is it me or is my belly button missing??????
Ok so, sanity on the slide! But I have had lots of vats keeping me company on the bed.....

This is Miss Titty...loves her mum:)
This is Miss Buggy...loves her mum :)
And this is Mr Fish..who smells like trump but he does love his mum...honest mum!
So...mad bag lady hats...I found a jolly lovely website..loveknitting...OoOoOoOh the wool!! So I added some to my basket and they turned up in a pretty bag...

Ooooh so pretty! And then out came the little knitting loom again....
Ohhh second mad bag lady hat.....

DS looking most disturbed wearing mad bag lady hat #2!!
Ah perfect for teenagers who don't want to be seen!! Mad bag lady hat #3 :)

And as you can see the fairy has gone completely insane in mad bag lady hat #4!!!!
Oh dear oh dear oh dear!!!!

The flightless wheelbarrow fairy finds things not to do

This is my beautiful, smart DD :) Who I am exceptionally proud of :) Here she is sporting what has now become known as 'the bag lady hat'.
A few weeks ago I bought myself a round knitting loom...

Thats one of them anyway, its the one I made 'hat' on! I had an old ball of wool..so off we went. Keep in mind my knitting with needles is atrocious! And looking at the bag lady hat it seems my loom knitting might be the same:D
So OH has bought me another ball of wool and this time I've found an actual pattern! So instead of buying crackers I think everyone should have a special bag lady hat at the xmas table:D I HAVE to find something I can do sitting down before my sanity dissapears completely!
I am sleeping...somewhat like the cats, in the afternoons. I am doing as little as I possibly can:D
DD bought me the new Terry Pratchet book, which was supposed to be my xmas pressie..and I shall read it slowly and with the reverence it deserves, not speed read it like I normally would. And I have a huge pile of Steve Berry and James Rollins I can re-read. Watching tv in the living room is umcomfortable, the chairs are too soft! So its a choice between the pc chair, the porch table or the bed!
OH also bought me granny pants:D So hopefully they'll be more comfy on the zipper site!
I shall be back with a new hat soon....oh dear...my poor family!

OK, own up, who said they don't believe in wheelbarrow fairies?

"Everytime a child says 'I don't believe in fairies,' there's a a little fairy somewhere that falls down dead."
Ok, so who maimed the wheelbarrow fairy?
She is officially out of action for 12 weeks...I shall say that again.....12 weeks!!!
Last wednesday she wasn't feeling very well, called 111, told to call local GP when they opened. Gp (3 hours later) sent her straight to surgical assesmant unit at the QE hospital.
Hmmm it seems to be your appendix but we're not sure. We're sending you straight to theatre.
I awoke..with a morphine pump, 22 staples, to be told i now had no appendix, and had also had a full hysterectomy :-O
I had major surgery, 3 hours of it, surgeon said if I'd have left it any longer i would have not been here:-S
So now I can sit, for a bit, I can walk about, for a bit and I can have a nice lie down, for a bit. I cannot lift, I cannot pick things up, I cannot work.
Basically, I have been de-fairied!!!
I have been at home 1 day. I have read 1 book and made my own dinner and cut up and cooked wedges as my contribution to tea.
I am a bored fairy. But i will not be silly and overdo it. And as a bonus the surgeon said I'd lost about a stone in weight!!
So as granny says..I aint ded!

Wheelbarrow fairy can count

The wheelbarrow fairy can count you guys!! There seems to only be 9 biscuits left! I believe DS ate 6 when he came in from school..2 may have passed my lips at tea break, OH demolished a pile at dinner...guess what I'm doing tomorrow?! More biscuits and DS has been told he's helping as he has eaten the most!
I'm gonna wash those snails right out of my grapes...I was singing, join in everyone..I'm gonna squish earwigs as the run past my hands, I'm gonna scream like a girl at the spiders i see...and rinse them down the hole!!! I hope this is the last lot of grapes..ok, so there are more...but I can't reach them even with the vest on a stick device, and DS had threatened to call childline if I get him to trampoline high enough to reach them, and throwing him is out of the question!
In the pot they go, look at all that juice, good eh? And thats before they've been heated up...release the juice boys....
Ah, but not before the secret ingredient, frozen elderberries again..the last of them. Juicy, juicy....
OoOooOooh would you look at that purple pleasure in a pan! It is now dripping, drip, drip, drip, squish (no thats not another earwig, its me trying to push it through 4 layers of muslin as I'm not patient! It may have to be frozen this time until I get the next installment of jars in a couple of days!
The wheelbarrow fairy has also.....
replaced toilet rolls...removed pile of empties.
removed recycling from pile left on table
teabag retieval (from the tea bag pot which was overflowing..it was an experiment in how many sitting on the counter before anyone else did it. There is in fact no limit!)
tidied up the shed, brought the washing in from the greenhouse and put it on the inside airer. And she's now gonna go sort washing into his/hers/its!
But I aint gonna do the washing up!!

Wheelbarrow fairy and the mystery of the biscuit tin

And this is where we start today, with a tatty old W.I. recipe book and the question 'where have half of my biscuits gone?' Today was one of those days, my tractor driver had a proper job to do so I was left to my own devices. So I baked!..there's parkin covered in foil, hopefully going sticky, and theres biscuits! I love HM biccies but I haven't made any for years, and I REALLY fancied something gingery:) So ginger biscuits and coconut butter biscuits...yum.
Some coconut done...some ginger ready to go in...would you look at those funky trays!

Coconut butter biscuits. Honestly, heaven in biscuit form.

And ginger biccies...best with a cuppa or the result may be broken teeth!
Now here's the thing. I had to eat three to make them fit in the tin. i mean I had to! And then my friend came round, and I put the kettle on, and more biccies went...then later on he stayed for tea and then more cups ensued and then more biccies...there is now HALF a tin left!! Now I remember why I don't make them...they are too good for their own good!!
And on a far less serious note...its muddy, ther eare puddles...puddles need paper boats.
Ah a splendid small yacht the SS Avoncatalogue.....
Bother...the puddle has dried up too much and she is grounded...although nice and upright...I need more water..a vast continent or water trough awaits our intrpid crew...
Ah....nope...not a british shipbuilder afterall! Goodbye fearless crew of the SS Avaoncatalogue, nasty list to port there...
Funny old mood today! Wanted to bite OH's head off for cleaning kitchen with steam cleaner! Talked to lovely DD :D She is a clever lass my darling daughter...love you GP xx and you mommy lady :D sorry! They've both been gossiping today..now...must get on...the shipbuilding project awaits!

Wheelbarrow fairy-a-roni

It's homemade rice-a-roni day for the wheelbarrow fairy!! For those in the UK, this is an american dry box meal! Sadly its yummy! Mommy lady sent me lots but I was quite sure I could replicate it so as not to cost mommy loads in shipping! First we had a wander and found some ingredients! I wanted broccolli and cheese flavour so off to find broccolli. I'm sure I've spelt that wrong..oh well....in the little chopping device it goes as I want it indistinguishable :D

Yep, thats indistinguishable! Green flecks it is! Now we need a side with our roni...time for another walk...

Uchiki Kuri squash, celeriac, red onion and half a fridge swede it is then! Honey mustard roasted veg it is:)
Right...1 cup of long grain rice, 1 cup of orzo, in a big frying pan with 2 tbsp butter...sizzle till brown.Add....
4cups water
chopped parsley
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp pepper
4 tsp boiullon powder
salt to taste
and simmer for 20 mins with a lid on, I added the chopped broccoli at the beggining and half a cup of chicken bits. and when it was nearly ready I added 2 tbsp parmesan (I also added cheese powder thanks to mommy but you can't get it in the UK!)
If its too wet cook on low with lid off for a few minutes longer.
DS and OH couldn't tell it was any different from normal :D
It doesn't look over exciting but the mix of pasta and rice is lovely. Winter stodge at its best. And NO, I'm not going to tell them it wasn't the box stuff because they'll suddenly decide they didn't like it! And there's alot of broccoli in the field to eat! And the roast veg is lovely with the honey and mustard, even DS clears it!
Next time I'm gonna use less orzo, maybe half a cup as we have leftovers (not that its a bad thing!) and the orzo is more expensive than basic rice!
PS. Chicken..if you're reading this...I am definitely NOT going near those scales after eating this! Even without my wellies on ;-)

Alhabetti wheelbarrowi fairi

The wheelbarrow fairy was most excited by the purchasing of alphabet pasta so in its honour she decided to make soup! So Alphabetti Minestroni it was to be....
Two old fridge carrots, a parsnip picked today, an gleaned onion, a leek and a potato! Chop, chop..then...

Buzzed in the little chopping device and sauted in some butter and oil for 10 mins, yummy free veg! Then we add the extras...

Ah the secret ingredient..Marmite!!! And a frozen baggie of tomato sauce, last years, nearly used it all now! And look...peeking at the edge there....its the .....

YAY!! Alphabet shapes!!!!! (too many exclamation marks is a sign of insanity!!!!!) Boil it all up for 20 mins (pasta in last 5 mins) then add some more found veg...

Perpetual spinach, keeps coming back however mean I am to it! Chop it fine and wang it in!

Oooh would you look at that it looks like soup now!

So thats one portion for my dinner, and it was yummy! And seven portions, one for me in the fridge for tomorrow, one for DS, and four in plastic tubbies for the freezer!

And if my costing is right it was about 60p to make the lot! Tin of beans from aldi 31p(multipack) 100g pasta 19p, tomato puree and tad of garlic puree 10p at a push. Everything else I grew:D
Now thats bargain lunches. 8 1/2p per portion!
I'm off to revel in alphabet happiness and love my new reduced tea towels (you may have noticed old ones are getting..er...holey!)

Ooh green! I love green things! Even spinach!

The wheelbarrow fairy and the ancient implement

The wheelbarrow fairy had to help find the ancient implement. Now I know this just look like a clump of weeds and artichokes to most of you, but somewhere under this lot there is a spinner.....

See...there it is!! It wasn't what we thought we were looking for, we both could have swore it looked different! But there you go...and obviously there goes my memory!! Well, we found it...now to get it on a tractor and ready to work....

Well, here it is on the tracor, ready to go! We think it's from the 1950's but I can't find it anywhere researching online! And I figured out that the bent piece of metal sticking out must be for an old sack to stop potatoes whizzing across the field!! This I didn't figure out until AFTER I had noticed them whizzing across the field!! Next we decided to give it a try!
And here it is in action!! Flicking potatoes wonderfully, doing exactly what we hoped, not damaging them and coping with our weedy plot fairly well:D
So there you go, one whole row of potatoes taken up, very old style. With alot of laughter as this thing is FUN! Although health and safety would wet themselves (the PTO shaft is covered so no arm removal possibilities!) It's alot harder work to pick them as they really are flicked quite a distance...(I was quoted as saying 'no wonder land girls were girls..I am far too old for this') at least it gets through on the wet, boggy land where everything else is too heavy and digs in, so it's coming out again on monday!!! With my old leggies luck!! Off to find an old sack to attatch to the 'stop them flying' arm!! :)

Ghosties, ghoulies and wheelbarrow fairies

Ghosties, ghoulies and a wheelbarrow fairy...that's my outfit...talking to a teenager last night and after I'd asked her what she was dressed as, she asked me the same question...a weirdo I said :D

Right...this is the pumpkin eating a pumpkin eating, you guessed it...a pumpkin!!!
This is what my DS called the 'durp' face pumpkin!

Friends house suitably decorated..the tea lights in jars on the lawn looked beautiful when it went dark:)
The wedding dress ghostie...didn't work quite as well as I hoped but there was a bit of a breeze and she floated nicely.
The splendid old stick and bit of board and binder twine combination sign! Cost zero!
                               Lit up 'derp' face!

The window witch from last year re-used:)

Teeny tiny pumpkins I grew and tealights in jam jars!! Magical:)

And he would kill me if he knew I'd put this here!! This is my friend 'Fred'. He looks so like his mum in this picture its unreal...Apart from the scowl! Any women out there fancy a poverty stricken 40 year old give me a shout! Poverty sends you mad and makes your hair go blue! And means you have to eat stew that a nice lady made before she went to another friends house to help him with halloween!

Ok so thats just as it started cooking...but they ate it!!
So, we gave out all 80 baggies and then some more loose sweeties! My friends, friends were phoning him telling him how great the house looked. And one of his wifes friends told me she would have loved it. Which made me happiest of all. I promised her, as she lay dying on LCP, that I would look after him. I held her hand and I promised and now I'm crying cos I remember last year when she was still here. Sorry :( Circle of life and all that. Least there's no pain anymore for her. Or dad for that matter. Off to find a hanky! But I'll keep fairying:-D
