The mad skirt is getting there..slowly. Every time I look at it, it makes me grin :-D And it flounces...of its own free will when no ones looking...it has a definitely flounce about it!...
lace ooooh...
Now watch carefully and you'll see it flounce...
See it?
No? And who's that in the centre at the front?
Kitty!! I ripped a pillowcase a while back and kept it 'in case it comes in handy' :)
This is definitely my anti-trendy skirt...should annoy DD this weekend!! Am I a bad mommy? She is uber fashionconscious.
her quote of the month was, when shopping with DS and I,
"The different between these clothes and what I wear is I'm fashionable". DS and I had to bite our tongues!! (The other favourite quote is " thats a nice dress for wearing in the house mum"!!!) Ah children.
And heres one of my little pets being helpful..
Mr Fish in the sewing box! He got yoinked out quickly, but this is the look I got when I told him he couldn't sleep in there! Why not?
Celeriac....in the rain, another bed planted..
Five done, yay! See each of those celeriac...remember the hoe..I will have to gently hoe around each individual plant, all 6500 of them, to get rid of the weeds. Thank heavens for mp3 player! (and a little dance now and then when no ones looking!)
Nine boxes left, DC your chance for helping plant is nearly gone :)
Nearly done and then...different plants to plant. I do enjoy the circle of the year, always turning, always bringing different aches.
Now off to have a rummage and see what I can use to fasten the flouncy fairy skirt. I was contemplating a huge flouncy bow tie, but would that possibly be too much flounce? And maybe a flouncy pocket for my hankie?

Spare fairy legs wanted..apply within
May I just say.....OW!!! My legs ache as if I've cycled to edinburgh and back!! (Ok so I'm approximating!!...I think the most I've cycled in one week was 72 miles!)
Four beds (12 rows) of celeriac planted :)
Two more beds to go. I ache. Tops of my leggies, my arms, my wrist as I started hoeing already! OH was just as bad but its his back not his legs. When did we get old and not notice?? We must be funny to listen to...everytime we straighten up in the field we make pain noises! Oooh..ow...phew...17 boxes to go...ow!
Four layers of skirt, five layers of skirt, I've started on the waistband and found some lovely lace mother in law gave me :) I may get the energy to finish it before the weekend!!
Look what I got...
Hmmm...inside out bread bag? But whats that inside? New potatoes!!! From the ones that got left last year :) I had a furtle (which is a furtive rootle!)Guess what was for tea?!
New potatoes!!!! And yes, they were smothered in butter! And yes, I would have happily just had potatoes :) There aren't enough to sell yet, but there was enough for tea.
Now would you look at this...
See the white lumps? That is our water straight from the tap! Last time I complained to the water company they said oh thats ok, its just from the side of the pipes as they'd been fixing them. MMM pipe crud!! Now thats what I call HARD water!
I am offski for a very hot bath in the vain hope it relieves these poor fairy legs!

Fairy aches
Celeriac. We got our plants...6500 of them!
Gah!! Brilliant!!!
It even says so on the label!! 50 boxes ....ow!!! One bed...aka three rows planted friday! Did another 2 beds today :)
Ow!! Had to make a little bath posy for my aches..
Pretty...and helps my old areas :-P can't beat a good bit of rosmary.
Its a long way down to the floor!! Squish, cover, then stomp in! Ow!
And in the time in between I have been sewing :D
Look at all those pretty squares!! I saw something I really liked and thought I'd give it a go...129 squares later...I killed my old Jones sewing machine. So...out came the car boot find from last year. I bought it because it was beautiful...
Still in its original box...still with its instructions... Would you look at that...beautiful machine! And it worked!! Even the light worked (until OH decided, like a small child, that flicking it on and off was funny grrr).
Anyway...my little rolls of fabric...
Are slowly making their way to becoming a skirt!!! Some of the fabric is new...mmmm new fabric, theres some pillow case, 1970's tablecloth, old work shirts...its nearly done...and it is pure fairy!! Raspberries!! I found these two on the plants that got lost and came up in the old greenhouse! And yes...nom nom and gone! Yummy!
Fred is still turning up EVERY DAY! But after his telling off from OH he is no longer driving around! My mood is better, mainly because I love planting, hands in the soil and all that! Even though the back of my legs feel like they belong to someone else...possibly someone alot older than me!
And when the celeriac is all planted I seem to have a few hundred squash plants to plant!
Theres two more trays still in the greenhouse :) I love work:)
BBS x sorry I keep going awol...there seems to suddenly not be enough hours in a day to sit here for too long!
